He received a Daytime Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Young Actor in a Daytime Drama Series” during his last year on the show.  Hyped as the series’ leading heart-throb, Grant even had a pin-up poster issued during the series’ run but he later became dissatisfied with acting in soaps moved to London in order to improve his craft. He returned to the US in the late 1980s and landed occasional primetime television acting jobs.

Grant Show Melrose Place

Show’s appearances on television attracted the attention of producer Aaron Spelling. Aaron felt that Grant had star potential and decided to cast him as Jake Hanson on a few episodes of the popular series Beverly Hills, 90210. This was in order to spin off the character as the lead in his next series Melrose Place. Ushering in with much fanfare (Show was on the covers of both TV Guide and People immediately after the series’ debut), the series’ ratings in its first season were not up to expectations. The show was revamped in the middle of the first season from an episodic straight-laced drama format to a melodramatic soap opera serial format in the tradition of Dynasty, one of Spelling’s earlier hits. The soap opera made him one of the most popular and best-known actors on American television during the 1990s. Show also played Jake in a guest appearance in the pilot of the Melrose spin-off Models Inc., and this made him the only actor to play the same character on the first three shows in the Beverly Hills, 90210 franchise.

Laura Leighton Grant Show

During Grant’s time on Melrose Place, he also appeared on an episode of Saturday Night Live hosted by Laura Leighton. In 1997, Grant, Laura Leighton (an off-screen girlfriend of Show’s for a period), Doug Savant, Courtney Thorne-Smith and Marcia Cross left Melrose Place, and this led the show into a major decline. The show was cancelled two years later, though Grant later regretted his decision to leave, despite his dislike of the scripts during his final season.

Show has since starred in a number of television movies, including Blessed Assurance with Cicely Tyson, Between Love and Honor with Robert Loggia, and also Homeland Security with Tom Skerritt and was one of the leads in the short-lived Fox Network supernatural drama Point Pleasant in 2005. Grant has made a guest appearance for three episodes in HBO’s acclaimed series Six Feet Under in 2002, and also in 2006 he guest-starred on two episodes of the ABC Family show Beautiful People, alongside former Melrose Place co-star Daphne Zuniga.

Grant appeared in three episodes of the FX show Dirt in 2007, playing a closeted gay action movie hero, Jack Dawson. He starred in the short-lived CBS summer drama series Swingtown as an airline pilot, Tom Decker in 2008.

He was also featured in a recurring role in its episodes of Private Practice in the 2008-2009 season. Show recently starred opposite Jenna Elfman in Accidentally on Purpose, which is his first sitcom. Grant appeared in the recurrent role of Michael Sainte, the Goji Guru, on the HBO series Big Love in the 2010 to 2011 season. He has also acted in a number of stage productions. ‘Dynasty’ stars Grant Show and Katherine LaNasa list custom Del Rey home for sale

Published; NOV 15, 2018

Source; https://www.latimes.com

Grant Show and Katherine LaNasa are moving on to their next home project, but not before letting go of their first collaborative effort. The acting couple, who currently appear on the prime-time soap opera “Dynasty,” have listed a Del Rey home that they helped customize and design for $2.649 million.

Completed this year, the two-story contemporary is set up for modern living with an open-concept floor plan, pocketing glass doors and flexible indoor-outdoor space. Skylights, automated floor lighting and custom fixtures sourced from New Orleans keep the interior well lighted.

Within more than 2,700 square feet of interior are a dining area, a formal living room and a chef’s kitchen with a walk-in pantry. A custom floating staircase made of walnut and steel extends upward to an office landing.

There are four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms including a master suite with a walk-in closet and wraparound deck.

The house sits on a walled corner lot of 5,415 square feet. An edible garden, decking, lawn and a fireplace fill out the backyard.

Show and LaNasa bought the property two years ago for $1 million. They are selling because they are designing a new home for themselves.

Rebecca Saenz of RE/MAX Estate Properties holds the listing.

Show, 56, has scores of credits including the shows “Devious Maids” and “Accidentally on Purpose,” as well as the 2012 horror film “The Possession.” From 1992-97, he played the role of Jake Hanson on the long-running Fox drama “Melrose Place.”

LaNasa has had recurring roles on “Two and a Half Men,” “Big Love” and “Longmire.” In addition to her work on “Dynasty,” the 51-year-old actress is set to appear in the upcoming season of Hulu’s “Future Man” and the Netflix series “Are You Sleeping.”
