Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon is an American singer and songwriter who is one of the talented contestants on the 17 season of American Idol.
He was born in Alexandria, Los Angeles and frequently moved around to different places, as his father was a Preacher.
Jeremiah has admitted that he is gay and during an interview, he said that he first realized he was gay when he 9 years old; he had a crush on a guy in a youth camp.

Jeremiah was born in a Christian family and his father was a preacher. He was homeschooled through high school and he later went to Lynchburg University in Lynchburg, Virginia where he started writing songs and released a featured album in 2018 by LU praise team.
Jeremiah now has his own band where he looks after Vocals, Keys and Guitar and the other two members in the band, Judah Arrington does Bass and Tyler Coleman plays the drums.

Jeremiah has admitted that he is gay. He came out to his parents and family in November 2018 and Jeremiah said that it was difficult for him to come up and tell his parents about his sexuality.
He has been in a relationship with his boyfriend, John Keister since 2018. Jeremiah moved out from his parent’s house in January but claims he was in contact with them.
After moving out, he started working in the church as church staff without any bias by the other church members.
Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon American Idol Audition
During his American Idol audition, Jeremiah performed his original song ‘Almost Heaven’ for American Idol judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan.
Before performing the song, he spoke about his struggles growing up gay in the household of a pastor. He said in a pre-recorded interview; “It wasn’t always easy growing up as a pastor’s kid. I felt a sense of there are certain parts of me that do belong and there are certain parts of me that don’t belong.”
“The consensus seemed to be this is not a path I should follow,” he said concerning his family’s attitude on his sexuality. “There are times I do feel alone. The hardest part for me is seeing how difficult it is for my family.”
Concerning his song, ‘Almost Heaven’, he said, “Almost Heaven’ is about questioning whether there is a place for me and people like me in heaven.”
Jeremiah wowed the judges with his performance. Judge Lionel Richie urged him to “lose the broom,” and said his “incredible” voice had “passed” another piano man, Billy Joel.
