Kevin Keane Biography
Kevin Keane is the sports director at WCTV-TV. His hometown is Tampa but he is based in Tallahassee, a city in Florida. Since childhood, he has had a passion for sports. However, if given the chance to be anywhere, he would be backpacking in the mountains, completely off the grid.
Kevin Keane Early Life
Kevin was born and raised in Tampa, a city on Tampa Bay, along Florida’s Gulf Coast, as an only child. He attended the University of Central Florida where he graduated in 2011. From the university, he got a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Business Management. He, however, pursued a career in sports journalism.
Kevin Keane Career
Kevin started his career as a production assistant in Roots Sports Rocky Mountain. Here, he prepared the studio and operated cameras, produced a feature on Colorado Rockies bat boy, produced/wrote/hosted mock-broadcasts of Colorado Rockies game shows, and logged, ingested, and edited Rockies interview footage. He worked at Roots Sports Rocky Mountain from the March of 2014 to the July of 2014.
After this, he became a reporter for Aurora 8 News. At Aurora, he: produced, wrote, edited, and hosted features and segments, produced and hosted “Pet Pals”, uncovered and enterprise stories in the city of Aurora, and operated studio cameras, teleprompter, and assisted in the production of Aurora News Weekly broadcast. He worked here from August 2014 all the way to May 2015.
One of his first well-known positions was as the anchor and reporter leading the sports team at KGWN, a CBS-affiliated television station, in Cheyenne, the capital city of Wyoming. He joined the station on the May of 2015. There, he managed to meet several notable personalities while covering sports. In February, the next year, he was given the position of CBS NewsChannel 5 Sports Director.
After two years spent in Wyoming, he was very excited to move to Tallahassee, back to his home state. In Tallahassee, he joined WCTV as a sports director in the August of 2017. Since then till date, he has been the sports reporter for WCTV, virtual channel 6, a CBS-affiliated television station.
