Kodi Lee is a 22 year old singer, pianist and entertainer who is currently a contestant on America’s Got Talent. While writing his bio on his website, the 22-year old says he is blind and autistic musical prodigious savant. He one of the approximately 25 persons in the world today who possess his extraordinary abilities. His amazing gift lies within his musical expression, perfect pitch, and passion for all forms of music. He also possesses an audio photographic memory, in which he can recall music he hears after just one listen. This is an unbelievable gift in itself, but his musical expression and prowess top even that.

Kodi is the son of Tina Lee and Mr. Lee . He has two siblings, sister Kayla and brother Derek. In his adventure on AGT, he had the support of his parents and two siblings, Kayla and Derek who watched him in the Backstage of AGT Season 14. His brother, Derek who also loves music, sometimes performs and plays guitar with him. His mother Tina Lee credits music for helping him triumph over autism and says that whether Kodi becomes a rock star or not he has made it . Speaking of his condition he said, “He has all these talents, but he has trouble communicating. He used to tantrum like 30 times a day. After he started performing, he got it. It really helped us to get his autism under control. He wants to be an entertainer.”

The 22 year old singer was born with optic nerve hypoplasia, and nearly died when he was just five days old. Other than being legally blind, he was officially diagnosed with autism at the age of 4. However, none of the two condition were able to hinder him from his passion for music.

Kodi is currently one of the contestants on NBC’s hit reality competition series, America’s Got Talent. Despite it being still early in the competition, the amazingly talented singer could be one of the Acts to watch out on Season 14 of AGT. He performed in front of millions on the TV show during his audition on NBC on Tuesday, May 28th, 2019.
The singer is both blind and autistic, but he hasn’t let these medical setbacks keep him from becoming a professional musician. The native of Southern California considers any day that he gets to perform “a good day,” so now that he’s competing on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, only more good days lie ahead.
He says he is ready for his big break, to perform in front of millions on AGT. Even before the show could premiere, judge Simon Cowell who is also the executive producer called him “incredible,” a rare compliment from the famously acerbic critic.
“I hope the public will love him,” Cowell told USA Today, “and I think they will.” Cowell typically doesn’t talk about any of the contestants before the show premieres, so this is a big nod of confidence.
Gabriel Union Golden Buzzer
Kodi became The first contestant to get a Golden Buzzer in season 14 of America’s Got Talent, on AGT Premier which aired on May 28th. Gabriel Union who is a new judge on the show was moved to tears by his amazing talent that she decided to give him the golden buzzer.

His ability enables him to recall music after hearing a song just one time. He has not only mastered classical works by Chopin, Bach and Mozart, but he can also perform rock, pop and R&B. He has the ability to play six instruments and loves to tap dance.
According to Dr. Darold Treffert, a psychiatrist in Wisconsin who has studied Savant Syndrome for more than 50 years, and was the medical consultant on Dustin Hoffman’s Oscar-winning turn in Rain Man while speaking to The Press Enterprise, he said “[Kodi] does fit the definition of a prodigious musical savant. I’ve been following his career a bit. He is blind and has been given a diagnosis of autism. Yet, he has this spectacular musical ability.”
Kodi Lee Friend is a Former AGT Contestant – Mikayla Philips
Kodi is best friends with Mikayla Phillips a former contestant on America’s Got Talent Season 13. Mikayla earned a coveted golden buzzer after his audition and made it all the way to the semi-finals. The two friends often perform together at local gigs, and just like he supported Mikayla throughout her entire journey on the series, Mikayla’s now returning the favor.
