For the Love of Ray J is a dating show on VH1 featuring hip hop singer Ray J. The program has a format similar to Flavor of Love, I Love New York, and Rock of Love. In reference to the series, he said:

Whitney Houston died of “accidental drowning”, as ruled by the coroner on February 11, 2012 . When she died Ray was in San Diego and arrived at the Beverly Hilton, where Houston died, at the time paramedics and police officers came to the scene. While waiting for more information, Ray became angered when he heard one of the officers make a “disrespectful comment” about Houston, prompting him to force entry into the suite prior to being restrained. Although initially he did not publicly address her death, Ray J broke his silence on February 17, 2012 when he told US Weekly that while the “world had lost an icon”, he had lost a “close friend”. Brandy, Ray J’s sister described him at the time of Houston’s death as being “very distraught” and “disconnected” as well as referring to it as “a very hard time in his life.”
The two became very close in the last years of her life, leading to speculation of a romantic relationship between the singers. However, he stated that they were friends, and that they had never dated. Ray was found in his hotel room on May 21, 2012 unable to get out of bed and was rushed to a hospital by ambulance. The day before, he was said to have had a confrontation at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards when Whitney Houston’s sister-in-law Pat Houston called security on him when she saw Ray was seated next to Bobbi Kristina Brown, Whitney’s daughter. According to TMZ, Ray J sold his Scoot-E-Bike business to Canadian company LOOPShare for an amount in the high 7-figures. That’s one sweet deal. Although he sold his business, Ray would be heavily involved in the company moving forward. He will control close to 19 million shares while still guiding the creative path for the scooters’ construction. The venture will kick off by producing three models of the convenient mode of transportation. A traditional sit-down model, a vespa style unit, and stand-alone scooter will expand Scoot-E-Bike, and make Ray a very rich man.
